He most recently served as both a practicing cardiologist and Assistant Professor at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, Division of Cardiology, where he specialized in general cardiology and advanced cardiac imaging—including cardiac MRI, coronary CT angiography (CTA), nuclear cardiology, echocardiography, and vascular ultrasound. Dr. Parker earned his Doctor of Medicine from Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Yale University’s Bridgeport Hospital in Connecticut and subsequently completed a fellowship in General Cardiology at the Ochsner Heart & Vascular Institute in New Orleans, Louisiana. “The origin of the word ‘doctor’ is rooted in the Latin ‘docere,’ which means to teach. While I have taught many young doctors, I feel that my greatest obligation is to teach my patients the nature of their illness, the treatments available and to help them make a truly informed decision on how to proceed.” He thrives in the face of clinical complexity and finds great fulfillment in managing challenging cases where straightforward answers are not easily found. Dr. Parker takes a thoughtful, deliberate approach to care, engaging in in-depth discussions with patients to arrive at the most appropriate and personalized course of action. His goal is to not only provide expert diagnostics and treatment, but also to partner with patients in making informed decisions about their heart health. When not working, Dr. Parker enjoys the outdoors, hiking and off-roading in the mountains, and spending time with his two young children.
