About Dr. Ian Stein
Certified by the American Academy of Neurology and Psychiatry, Dr. Ian Abraham G. Stein is an Attending Physician at Neurological Specialties of Long Island, PLLC and serves on the staff of North Shore-LIJ Manhasset, Long Island Jewish and Winthrop Hospital. Since 2006, he has provided our neurological patients with comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care.
Dr. Stein graduated Summa Cum Laude with his Bachelor’s degree from Yeshiva University, followed by his medical degree from SUNY Downstate Medical School. After graduating, Dr. Stein completed an internship at Staten Island University Hospital and residency training in Neurology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center.
In order to further advance his training, Dr. Stein also completed a fellowship in Clinical Neurophysiology at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where he completed rotations in EMG/NVC, EEG, EMU Monitoring, Sleep Lab and Evoked Potentials, among others. He developed special interest in complex epilepsy cases, neuromuscular disorders and neuropathy. He has also been involved in research and has published articles on neuropathies. He has particular interest in the diagnosis and management of painful neuropathies.
Throughout his practice experience, Dr. Stein has received numerous awards for his dedicated care, including recognition as the Best Neurologist on Long Island by the Long Island Press, recipient of the On-Time Physician Award, Compassionate Physician Award and Patients Choice Award from Vitals.com on multiple occasions. He is also a member of several professional organizations, including: American Academy of Neurology,American Epilepsy Society,American Academy of Electrodiagnostic Medicine.
