Dr. Ira Meyers received his B.S. in biology in 1982 from The College of William and Mary, and his D.P.M. degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in 1987. He completed his residency in podiatric surgery at Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Meyers became board certified in podiatric surgery in 1993, and completed a fellowship in podiatric sports medicine in 1989. As an avid runner with an accomplished list of accolades, Dr. Meyers specializes in treating running and sports related injuries. A winner of many races, including the Philadelphia and Long Island marathon (twice), Dr. Meyers has had the opportunity to work with many runners of all levels, including Olympians. Dr. Meyers has an astute understanding of gait analysis, orthotic management and shoe modifications/recommendations. Dr. Meyers often treats stress fractures, turf toe injury, calcaneal apophysitis, plantar fasciitis, achilles tendinopathy and metatarsalgia and utilizes cutting edge regenerative medicine to aide in recovery including amnion injections and extracorporeal pulse activation technology. His motto is, "Treat, so you can compete!" Dr. Meyers practices all phases of podiatry. He is currently on staff at Holy Redeemer Hospital and Abington Memorial Hospital.
