The doctor was absolutely incredible through a video visit. He listened and empathized and really tried to understand and address the multiple issues. He had great insight and great solutions.
It is a hefty price out of pocket but in the scheme of things it is completely worth it, because he’s helping me to get my life back. I’m not even joking.

My. Initial psychiatric assessment with Dr.. Leivent couldn't have gone better. He had a great way of communicating without jargon, was very present, and felt more like a conversation with an acquaintance, rather than a psych evaluation. Not once did I feel rushed, and I can tell that he genuinely cares for the well being of his patients, so much so that he gave out his cell number to contact in times of need and if I had any questions about my new treatment regime. I am grateful for having found him as a doctor, and would recommend him highly.

Dr. Leivent was excellent! We started our appt a few minutes early. He listened well. He understood my concerns and issues from a medical perspective as well as from just as a person. I went into my appt expecting to hear if I needed any type of meds/prescriptions; yet we finished the hour and I had a TREMENDOUS amount of clarity on top of necessary prescriptions. He is very professional, he knows his practice/the industry very well and he listens exceptionally. I can’t say enough about Dr.Leivent. That one hour has truly re-directed my life beyond just necessary prescriptions!

I had a virtual meeting with Dr. Leivent to talk to him about a possible case of adult ADHD. I really felt like he was able to listen to me and help understand that I might be also experiencing generalized anxiety disorder. Dr. Leivent helped me form a plan to tackle these issues in a very professional manner. He also provided his direct cell number which I could reach out to him for questions and quick check-ins / follow-up. I feel very confidant that I am in good hands and wholeheartedly recommend him. I've already scheduled a follow-up appointment.

Jacob is a true professional and I've been around enough to know. Really focused on making sure he gets the full story but also focusing in on the issues at the order of magnitude - what is the most crucial and working the way down in a coordinate fashion that I very much appreciate. A great listener and also very knowledgeable about solutions, at least those that pertain to my situation, much more so than the previous psychiatrist i had seen for years.

I am both grateful and relieved to have found Dr. Leivent on ZocDoc! After having recently moved from FL to NYC, I was worried that establishing care with a new psychiatrist would be quite challenging (with wait times, fees, etc.). Dr. L eliminated all fears/challenges associated with establishing care with a new psychiatrist as he is very accommodating with fast response times, is considerate, and thorough. Whether it’s a pharmacy or personal issue, he’s very quick to respond via text and is always eager to help. Dr. L is a fabulous, highly competent psychiatrist who I’d happily recommend to family & friends.

Dr. Leivent, quite simply, solved my problems in one single visit, and I would say, saved me from a crippling despair.
Since meeting with him a week ago (in what I would consider my absolute rock bottom), I have been able to attain level of functionality and focus that I had never known before.
He was non judgmental, 100% attentive, and perhaps most importantly, compassionate while at the same time being extremely practical; focusing on solving the issue at hand. It was a truly balanced approach, handled with incredible grace and professionalism while being human.
His diagnosis was well considered, and he explained his thoughts of a course of treatment, while checking in to with me consistently to see if I agreed with him, and that we were on the same page.
The bottom line is, I truly felt that he cared about my case. And now, a week out from my session with him, my life has changed exponentially for the better. I feel in control, and full of hope for my future. Many of the road blocks leading to my seeking help have already been addressed due to that session with Dr Leivent. I feel that I have accomplished so much that I simply could not do had I not sat across from him that day.
There was nothing cold or clinical about this visit. He was very, very humanist in his approach.
If you are struggling, and feel perhaps that there is no hope, please see this Dr. He WILL be able to help you, both with his insight, and treatment.
There is a reason that his ratings on ZocDoc are as high as they are.

I've never gone to a Doctor who doesn't take insurance, and truthfully, I initially went to Dr Leivent assuming I'd stop seeing him as soon as I managed to find an in-network Doctor with an equally flexible schedule. But after my first appointment, I honestly can't imagine seeing any other Psychiatrist.
Dr. Leivent is a pretty astonishingly skilled clinician. Beyond all the usual things that make a good Doctor (beside manner, wait times, etc.), he's great in ways I didn't even know I wanted out of a doctor. For instance, he's so deeply knowledgable about his field, I've occasionally brought up esoteric research papers or experimental treatments, and not only is he always deeply familiar with whatever it is I bring up, he can even walk me through the pros/cons, and applicability to my treatment.
If I wanted to complain about Dr. Leivent, I literally would not be able to find a reason to. To the most minuscule detail, there's nothing to complain about. He's available over text message, skype, etc.; he's flexible with scheduling and pricing; he's tech savvy and accepts almost any payment method.
I couldn't recommend him more, even for those (like me) who wouldn't usually see a clinician who doesn't take insurance.
