About Dr. Jacob Shulmister
Dr. Jacob Shulmister is a board-qualified foot and ankle surgeon providing comprehensive in-person care at Foot Specialist Associates in Denver, Colorado.
He earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine and completed an intensive surgical residency in foot and ankle surgery at HCA HealthONE Presbyterian/St. Luke’s Medical Center. Dr. Shulmister is board qualified in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and is an active member of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Shulmister remains actively involved in academics and resident education at the Presbyterian/St. Luke’s foot and ankle surgery residency program, where he helps train the next generation of surgeons. He has delivered multiple academic presentations at regional and national podiatric meetings, including the Highlands Foot and Ankle Conference and the Colorado Foot and Ankle Society.
Originally from Virginia Beach, Dr. Shulmister grew up surfing and has since transferred those skills and passions to snowboarding in the Colorado Rockies. Outside of medicine, he enjoys Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, fly fishing, and singing and playing guitar.

These doctors are the best. They are thorough and extremely knowledgeable. You leave the office knowing you were well taken care of. My daughter also was treated there. We feel extremely blessed to have found Foot specialist Associates. I can confidently recommend them! Don't bother looking looking elsewhere. They are the best!

The provider gave us no useful information about the issue with my daughter's ankle. He seemed uncertain of his own recommendations, did not offer any treatments or referrals. It was a waste of our time, we did not make any progress towards improving her situation.

Dr. Shulmister was very nice and listened to my concerns. He not only addressed the foot pain I was having but also explained how a broken leg I had almost 30 years ago was effecting my feet, hips and lower back now. This was something I did not expect. This one appointment addressed several issues that I have just been dealing with for years. Great doctor! I would highly recommend him.
