Professional statement

Dr. Gladstone is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon. Dr. Gladstone is a specialist in sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery, and knee and shoulder reconstructive surgery. He attended Dartmouth College and Tufts University School of Medicine. He performed his orthopaedic residency at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center's New York Orthopaedic Hospital. Following his residency he sub-specialized with a fellowship in sports medicine at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama under the tutelage of Dr. James Andrews and Dr. William Clancy. In 1996, he joined the Department of Orthopaedics at Mount Sinai as an assistant professor and specialist in sports medicine. Dr. Gladstone's areas of expertise include arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, knee and ankle, ligament reconstruction of the knee, shoulder stabilization procedures for instability and dislocation, rotator cuff problems from bursitis to rotator cuff tears and knee and shoulder total joint replacement. Dr. Gladstone's interest in sports medicine extends to acting as team physician for a number of area high schools, event coverage such as the New York City marathon and conducting seminars on sports injury prevention and treatment.

Unfortunately, we always need to wait to see Dr. Gladstone but he is definitely worth the wait. I injured myself so many times, he is the best doctor I have seen in my 16 years of injuries.

Doctor was very professional and particularly knowledgeable about knees. He even had a questionnaire specific to knee concerns. While I was there, he needed to do a procedure with a scope and he was gracious enough to have his assistant checkbeforehand if my insurance covered the procedure. That was very helpful. Wait time wasn't long, but I had the first appointment of the day, so not sure why there was wait time at all.

I've seen this MD twice now and am so happy in his care. Dr. Gladstone is one of the best out there. (He cares for all the U.S. Open athletes so if he's good enough for Serena Williams he's okay forme!) He won't prescribe surgery unless absolutely necessary either and is truly committed to getting you well. One note: You will probably have a wait...maybe up to an hour...but it's only because once you're with him, he will take all the time necessary to understand your case and answer all your questions. He does this with every single one of his patients, so it can delay appointments a bit. It's a pro/con, but for his expertise and care I can overlook the wait and will continue to see him and highly recommend him.

The wait took a long time because of the rain I think. The new patient paperwork took a while even though I've been to Sinai before. Gladstone himself was amazing! He was so warm and listened to me.

I like Dr Gladstone. He had an emergency in the morning which backed up his whole schedule by 2 1/2 hours, however. It makes no sense not to have a system in place to allow patients to reschedule or at least be warned before the visit.

I could deal with the wait because the doctor was so gentle and kind. He showed me the x-rays and explained carefully what had happened so that I would understand. I walked out of the office feeling much better knowing what the problem was.

Dr. Gladstone is personable and competent: an unbeatable combination. I have confidence in his assessment. His nurse, Charity, is friendly with a manner that helps one feel comfortable. The front desk does not seem fully integrated with Zoodoc.I somehow was not in their schedule, though I had a Zoodoc print-out indicating my appointment.

This was a terrible experience for my 16year old son and myself. We had a 3:30pm appointment and after waiting 1hour we were told that he was running late. We waited another 30 min and asked for an update. The rudestperson ever - his assistant Carol - came out and told us we needed to wait another hour! She had the nerve to say that doctor appointments are always late... 2.5hours late?!?! You would think she would do her job and notify patients of the delay. Not going back there for sure.

Dr. Gladstone is a knowledgeable, caring, fantastic doctor. I immediately felt I was in good hands and I really was!! My meniscus surgery was a great success and I can compare it with another done six years ago on the otherknee by another doctor. He is a very busy professional but he has always a very human, kind touch. The best!

I limped into Dr. Gladstone's office a broken down man with excrutiating knee pain and walked out two hours later, so relieved that I could walk again, that I wept when I got out the door to 98th st. The mostexquisite care from Yvette at the desk to the young lady who took my x-rays to Magdalena and Diana in the room. These four ladies and Dr. Gladstone are the people that not only make Mt. Sinai my hospital of choice but raise the bar of healing immensely! Thank you sooooo much for fixing my legs and giving me my quality of life back!
