I listen carefully to your unique story to achieve your best medical outcome. Why I entered medicine At age 10, I observed my father's decline after a critical cardiac event at 40. I recognized the need for research into novel treatments and the importance of patients and families establishing trusting relationships with their medical team. During a time of fear and uncertainty for my father and family, I learned the significance of compassionate, empathic care, which I strive to provide to my patients in his memory. Community involvement I have helped educate medical, physician assistant, and nurse practitioner students and found it extremely rewarding. I served as a medical school faculty member for 12 years and have been involved in community outreach and education through local schools and businesses on various medical topics and health campaigns. I have served as a board member for Easter Seals and organizations focused on educating autistic children. I have supported homeless shelters and worked with domestic abuse programs. I also support animal shelters and have personally adopted numerous special needs animals. Personal interests My interests include working with animal shelters and emergency facilities to foster and adopt special needs animals. I enjoy personal fitness, including distance running and indoor cycling. I also appreciate community and school activities with my twin daughters and have an interest in Victorian-era architecture and collectibles. Education and training I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Scranton, followed by a Doctor of Medicine from Pennsylvania State University. I completed my residency in Internal Medicine at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown.
