Very nice and personable.
Constance (the Dr. Putnam's assistant) is very welcoming! Quite an asset to his practice.
Amazing and very knowledgeable doctor!! Dr. Putnam was so kind and attentive to everything I had to say and he did not try and rush through my appointment as I've had happen to me in the past. His front office staff was so friendly too, so that was an added bonus. Great environment all around and I'm very lucky to have found his office!
I've been to three doctors in three states in the last year and Dr. Putnam was the best by FAR! He actually listens, is open to alt. forms of treatment and doesn't push 10000 drugs down your throat. I have found my new long term Psychiatrist for sure.
Dr. Putnam is hands-down the best psychiatrist in the DMV! I have worked with three different psychiatrists in the area prior to seeing him and he is leaps and bounds above the rest - there's simply no comparison. He is incredibly warm and friendly with a fantastic bedside manner - very easy to talk with. He made excellent professional recommendations for my treatment and made sure to explain them thoroughly to ensure I was comfortable with them. Also, the woman at the front desk (I believe her name is Constance) is equally warm, welcoming, and helpful. I am so glad I found them - I'll never see anyone else if I can help it!
I was pleased.
I didn't feel like he listened to me. I was upfront since the beginning of the session that I was looking for a second opinion, and he seemed to even be judging my current treatment. Which OK, he had different thoughts, that's why I went, but again he just wouldn't seemed to really listen to what I had to say. After that he said he would send a note to my current Psychiatrist by the end of the week with his thoughts and copy me. It's been now 2 weeks since my appointment and no notes. My doctor called them, they said they didn't have them and he was busy. The next day I called, and the super rude front desk lady said, "He's not here, the paperwork is on your desk, you need to stop calling". So yeah, overall a terrible experience.
Very personable, easy to talk to and had solid recommendations. Thank you for helping me!
Dr. Putnam is personable, professional, and knowledgeable I felt very at ease with him. Also-- his staff is professional. I had no wait time whatsoever.
Excellent, professional, punctual and a very good listener. Incredibly relieved to find someone so competent that also has a good front office staff and is pretty accessible overall.
Dr. Putnam was very thorough, kind, and funny. He listened to my concerns and was very warm with allowing me to be a part of my treatment plan. I have found my doctor for life - awesome professional!
Dr. Putnam was extremely knowledgeable and knew how to treat certain issues that I have been dealing with for a long time. I am confident that working with him will allow me to received not only the best care, but the care that will provide the best results for me. Super happy with my decision to see Dr. Putnam.
Very professional and not judgmental. A very good choice
I honestly feel lucky to have found Dr. Putnam. His bedside manner is, in a word, awesome. I felt super comfortable and I greatly appreciated that he listened to me and took time to get to know me. He was funny, engaging, and highly personable. He was incredibly knowledgeable, asked me relevant questions, and got my trust immediately.
A+ from the moment I arrived. Warm welcome from front desk staff. Friendly and helpful. Dr. Putnam was top notch. Thorough, attentive, careful listener-- highly recommend. Dr. Putnam took his time to listen my concerns and address them thoroughly, explaining to me the process of treating my concerns. True professional.
Cannot say enough good things about Dr. Putnam! Informative, caring, patient, comprehensive, and AVAILABLE. His assistant is not very pleasant ... but she gets everything done in a timely manner. Dr. Putnam is very outgoing, sociable, and he actually CARES! Not just a medicine pusher.
Dr. Putnam is incredible relatable but very professional. I feel like we really accomplished things. A very pleasant and successful.
Dr. Putnam is an expert. He's also quick, efficient, and wastes no time! Highly recommend.
Consulting with Dr. Putnam on issues of anxiety, I found him to be very helpful: thoughtful and attentive--highly professional but at the same time able to project a demeanor of empathy and concern. I could not have been more pleased with the consult and feel optimistic about this interaction and the ones that will follow.
I had been looking for a new pyschiatrist since moving to the area and haven't found anyone who seemed to be a good fit, but as soon as I met this Dr I knew he would be my continuing care physician for mental health. His advice has been very helpful, we've been working hard together to switch out some of my more addictive and dangerous medications to safer ones that work just as well. He was even willing to do testing to figure out why some of my medications were impacting my life the way they were and has been very helpful. He explains everything to his patients so they know exactly what the treatment is and what to expect. He is very helpful and I am happy to be a patient of his. The only issue I have is that when I call, I've never actually reached someone over the phone when I call for an appointment or refill. I have to leave a message and wait for a call back. It's a little frustrating but they're also a very busy office, so it's understandable. They pay full attention to you while you're in the office, so the phone issue is something to note for those who like immediate pick-up of the phone at a doctor's office, but everything else is fantastic!
Dr. Putnam was attentive, was easy and pleasant to talk to.
He listened to what I want out of treatment and was empathetic about side effects and reassuring about my achieving better results
Fantastic and upbeat doctor who actuallly wants to help you get better. Can't recommend enough.
Very much to the point and helpul
He was thorough!
Very alert. Great listener. Well-run office.
Very friendly but also professional. I felt comfortable right away. Was very efficient and I didnt feel like my time was wasted. Despite leaving well before the allotted time frame it was a thorough consult.
He seemed to be very current in his knowledge, and he seemed to have a better understanding of neuroscience behind the medications than most psychiatrists I've seen. He was also very personable and seemed sincerely concerned about my well being.
Arrived early and was taken early. Dr. Putnam is very warm and caring. He listened, reviewed my meds and made recommendations for next steps which we started on right away. I would definitely recommend him.
He was very helpful and I had a great appointment. He truly cared about me as a patient.
A very down to earth doctor who is easy to talk to and makes you feel very comfortable!
Dr. Putnam is very professional and thorough. He stays up to date on latest health research, medication and treatment options, would highly recommend to anyone suffering with anxiety disorders.
So great! I think I laughed for most of the appointment. Highly recommend!
Very relaxed but professional manner. Made me feel at ease and that his plan of treatment was well thought out. Clean, professional office and staff, no wait.
Jared was great - very easy to talk to. His staff was also very kind. No wait time, either.
Uncaring, unprofessional looked like he couldn't care less what I was saying. Have never been so shocked at the treatment of a professional Doctor. I ave already filed a complaint with Insurance company and will go further with complaint to Medical Board. He saw me for 10-15 min and billed insurance company for 45min. My wife who accompanies me to all Doctor appointments because I have stage 4 cancer takes notes at all appointments asked if she could come in with me,doctor said he would see her separately. To our surprise we received two bills one for her and one for me. she saw doctor for less than 10 min is not a patient and received no medical prescription from doctor but handed a piece of paper with name of book and told her to read. we were shocked and called billing department to rectify situation. there was no return call. I even left message with a heads up I would be filling a complaint. Seems like they just don't care. Read the reviews on all of the other sites and there are similar complaint patterns.I have consulted my Oncologist and my Psychologists with concerns about the Doctor and both agreed that the billing is unethical or considered in legal terms not good practice. We are more concerned about treatment and ethics rather than money. this is a situation of Doctor just being wrong. I hope this won't happen to any one else thats why I'm writing this. Not sure how much longer I will live but do understand right and wrong. Very Sad I have to write letter like this.
I got there ten minutes early (as I usually do) and was seen almost right away! The good doctor is kind and has a wonderful sense of humor, making rapport easy and ensuring you're comfortable telling him what he needs to know.
I thought it was a pleasant enough experience. Time will tell me more about my Doctor. I look forward to continuing my treatment with him.
Dr. Jared Putnam is a wonderful psychiatrist. He is easy to talk to; not stuffy like some other doctors I've seen. He wants to gain an understanding of his patients, which I appreciate. My grandfather has been seeing him for years and thinks highly of him too. The appointment was a breeze to make and it didn't take long to be seen ,(again, like it does other doctors). I STRONGLY recommend scheduling an appointment with Dr. Putnam. It will be your best first step toward healing!
Professional, thorough, and his receptionist was very nice. Beautiful office in a beautiful area of town, as well.
Friendly receptionist, minimal wait. Dr. Putnam has great bedside manner, and I felt that he was thorough and genuinely tried to understand my issues.
Dr. Putnam is warm, approachable and knowledgeable. When I moved to the DC area, I looked for a doctor I knew I could go right to without jumping through too many hoops, and who also accepted my insurance. I've been very happy with Dr. Putnam and he's great at assessing where you're at and providing suggestions or treatment according to present needs or questions.
I liked Dr. Putnam very much, he was very professional and thorough. He recommended a new test that will suggest what medications might work better for me and I was delighted to hear that. I was also glad that I found this doctor on Zoc Docs. I will return for my next appointment, I feel I have found the right person for ongoing treatment.
Listened and very nice....felt very comfortable.
Very organized and understanding
Always prompt, pleasant, and direct.
Really nice, approachable guy. Looking forward to working with him in the future!
This was my first appointment with Dr. Putnam. He is kind, knowledgeable, to the point, and.a very good doctor. We have a follow-up appointment in several weeks. I would recommend him to others.
Gave me hope.
He was a little impatient with my story, but maybe that was me.
This was my first visit to a psychiatrist ever, despite probably needing it far sooner than I scheduled the appointment. He was very easy to talk to, made me laugh, and I felt comfortable telling him everything he needed to know. I was very worried I would have to "shop around" to find a good psychiatrist but he's amazing and I'm lucky to have met him.
I have full confidence that he will Handle all my issues.
Comfortable and easy back and forth.
A wonderful, friendly, smart guy! Highly recommend him. Very refreshing to have a psych who a) accepts insurance and b) seems genuinely interested in helping you and c) knows his stuff.
Very professional. Very comfortable.
Felt at ease with Dr. Putnam. Very easy to open up about my issues and he was able to give me useful advice.
I enjoyed the visit; however, I keep getting a bill from the office and when I call no one responds.
I think he knows what he's doing and is going to be a really big help to me. I'm nervous but hopefully I'll be back to normal like I used to be. This was a scary thing to do but I thank GOD my old shrink retired.
I think his advice was accurate. I cannot follow up on his recommendation at this time. Unfortunately, he cannot treat my condition but he listened well to the issues and I need to seek more holistic avenues to mental health and see a General Practitioner for health issues.
