About Dr. Jeffrey Abergel
Jeffrey Abergel, MD, is a board-certified gastroenterologist at NewYork-Presbyterian Medical Group Hudson Valley. He treats an array of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders but has a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis). He performs procedures, including upper endoscopy, colonoscopy, percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy, endoscopic retrograde cholangio pancreatography, and videocapsule endoscopy.
After earning his medical degree at the Sackler School of Medicine in Israel, Dr. Abergel completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. He then completed his fellowship in gastroenterology at Robert Wood Johnson School of Medicine in New Jersey.
In 2015, Dr. Abergel was honored by the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s charity event, “Take Steps” Walk on Staten Island. His research has been published in both medical journals and textbooks. Additionally, his work has been presented at national meetings of the American College of Gastroenterology.

Honestly felt that I wasn’t heard. I was just a number there. He didn’t listen to me at all, he was just worry about prescribing a drug. Never will be back. They draw my blood and I was concern because my chair was next to a garbage bin!!!! No towels nothing under, just lift my shirt on the chair I was sitting on, with a garbage bin touching my arm. And I told the doctor, dude are you prescribing me an off the counter remedy ? I have been doing this myself. What is the point of me being here ? I need help with my stomach, then he said oh so let’s do a endoscopy and a colonoscopy, after I mention it. No I won’t do any treatment there. Stay away

The doctor is thorough, informative, and honest?. He doesn’t beat around the bush and is very smart. It took only about three minutes for me to quickly realize that this is a person who has definitely paid attention during his years of medical schooling and has surrounded himself by the best in his humble beginnings.
