About Dr. Jeffrey Balkenbush

A lifetime love of sports led me to a specialty in sports medicine. Growing up in Edmond, Oklahoma, I played a variety of sports. I played Division II football at Fort Hays State University but injuries cut my football career short. I had great experiences with some amazing medical practitioners. So, the silver lining of those injuries was that they led me to a career in medicine. I wanted to provide the kind of compassionate care I got as a college athlete. My time as a patient sparked a passion for family medicine, which I carried into residency before pursuing a fellowship in primary care sports medicine. Outside medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife, our son and our pet bunny. As a family, we love being outdoors, staying active, traveling and bingeing our favorite TV shows.
