“Wonderful staff & Doctor. Despite going in for a somewhat different reason than listed on the preliminary form (which I wasn't sure what it would have fallen under), Dr. Kuo helped with the issue on top of a regular eye exam. And unlike a few other reviews I've read from nearby offices, she and the staff made it clear that the retinal imaging would cost extra on top of the co-pay which was very welcome.
Overall, a great experience and I recommend anyone who's even remotely nearby to give them a try. ”

About Dr. Jennifer Kuo
A thorough optometrist, Dr. Jennifer Kuo is available for consultations and examinations at her private practice. She has been practicing at this office since 2012 and is committed to addressing the visual and eye health needs of working professionals and their families, as well as community members in and around San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Kuo received her bachelor's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Having firsthand experience working in a computer-centric environment, she helps her patients identify and relieve computer-related eyestrain and fatigue. She is passionate about educating people about their ocular health and encourages active participation from patients in their treatment process. Dr. Kuo values open conversation with her patients and is driven by getting to know them as individuals.
Outside of her clinical career, she enjoys hiking, traveling with family and friends, and continuing to improve on her conversational Mandarin skills.

Dr. Kuo has been our Optometrist for years. Even after moving away from the city, we still prefer to get our eye work done there. She's super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Staff is equally good and the selection of eyewear is strong. 5 stars!

Dr. Kuo is the best optometrist in SF. I’ve been a returning client for years! She carefully explains all the tests performed and patiently discusses the results and addresses all of your questions/concerns.
I didn’t want to wear contacts and reading glasses. Under her care, Dr. Kuo has adjusted my contact prescriptions so that I haven’t needed to use reading glasses over the past 5 years. She gives me trial pairs of contacts to test which prescription level I’m most comfortable with before I order my annual supply.
Dr. Kuo truly cares about her patients. If she refers you to a specialist, she will follow up with the other doctor for their results. I highly recommend Dr. Kuo and City Eyeworks!!

One of the best experiences I've had! As a new patient, I was seen right after I filled out a short questionnaire.
I went in for an eye exam for an irritated eye. They were super kind and informative. She answered all my questions and thoroughly gave me my course of treatment as well as gave me coupons for eye drops I needed.
They were also very transparent about my insurance coverage, which I appreciated. I already knew beforehand that they weren't in-network for me, but they gave me a call in advance and let me know.

Dr. Kuo is knowledgable, transparent, kind, humble, and thoughtful. She actively listened to what was important to me. She also took the time to explain her evaluation, the tools, and the next steps. this was my best optometrist visit ever! jennifer did a great job of explaining what exactly was going on with each part of the evaluation, and i felt right at ease. as much as it is weird to say this, i'm looking forward to my next visit!

I met with Dr. Frank and had a wonderful experience. My first vision exam in over a decade so I was a little nervous, but Dr. Frank (previously a professor at UC Berkeley) welcomed and answered my questions with a delightful sense of humor.
