“Dr George is one of the most understanding and kindest doctors I've ever seen. She possess the rare gift of being a good listener. Her sessions with me helped me beat my depression and my unknown (at the time) PTSD. I always felt comfortable opening up to her and her advice helps me to this day. In fact I pass on her knowledge and advice to others. If I could give her 100 stars I would. I highly recommend her!”

Getting to know Dr. Jessica George

I have spent 15 years working with people of all ages who have experienced the worst days of their lives—traumas of all types. I use a blend of evidence-based therapy, such as EMDR, neurobiological principles, and most importantly, the strength of the therapy relationship to guide you toward healing and recovery so you can live your best life. In addition to trauma, I specialize in assisting people with burnout, life transitions, and grief. Because I have worked with clients under significant stress, I feel comfortable supporting people in crisis—I’m here for the hardest things people deal with. I hold a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of North Texas, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to provide compassionate, effective care.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Above all, my clients appreciate that I make genuine bonds with them, often lasting years. I use a humanistic approach, which means I am authentic and acknowledge you are the expert of you! I love to be curious and creative in my approach to better understand you so I can tailor treatment to your unique experiences and perspectives. I will never see you as a problem, diagnosis, or label. I know you have been doing the best you can and where you are now is because of what happened to you--not what is "wrong" with you. If you want help to process your past life experiences so you can move forward from what has been holding you back, reach out to me!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

No two therapy clients are alike, so there is not a "typical" session format. After spending some time gathering background information and getting to know you, I collaborate with you to create a treatment plan that we can both agree on. If something is not working or feeling right, we are flexible and figure out alternatives. Some sessions may look like traditional talk therapy, while others may be more structured. It all depends on what you need and how I can best help you!
