What should a new client know about working with you?

I believe in taking a collaborative approach when working with clients. It is important that treatment goals are mutually agreed upon and that goals are re-visited and re-evaluated on an ongoing basis. If expected progress is not being made or not as quickly as hoped, it is important to have a discussion around this and to explore alternative or additional treatment approaches and options. When goals are met, it is important to acknowledge the hard work and effort that it took to make personal changes that are often very difficult and/or intimidating to make, but so very worth it once those goals are achieved! At that point, we can explore setting new goals, continue to reinforce and maintain new changes in lifestyle and habits, and make sure that the client feels confident they have the skills and plenty of coping strategies to rely on when there are bumps in the road moving forward. As a psychologist, I consider it to be an honor that my clients trust me with their struggles, vulnerabilities, and share difficult and painful experiences, histories and traumatic memories. I am receptive to feedback and my clients are encouraged to take an active role in their therapy by coming to sessions with an agenda for topics they wish to discuss (not mandatory), or with questions or concerns they may want to be sure to address in that particular session. If a client is uncomfortable with a topic or not ready to go down a particular path or would prefer to focus on something else, it is important for them to feel comfortable and empowered to express that. I will never force an agenda onto a client. Open communication is imperative and a critical aspect of the therapeutic relationship. While I provide honest feedback and objectivity, as well as a place of safety and consistency, therapy goals should be the goals of the client. We will work together to make sure they are attainable/realistic and then make ongoing efforts/changes to ensure they are achieved.

Ongoing session: $155-245 for 50 minutes

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
