Dr. Tierney is a great doctor. He listens to your problem/needs and gives you options for your treatment. He always has a smile on his face. Sometimes you do have to wait a little bit before he actually sees you, but he's a busy man.
As a healthcare provider myself, I was pleased with Dr. Tierney's professionalism and his conservative approach to treatment. Many doctors want to go ahead and operate prior to trying holistic, minimally invasive treatment whereas Dr. Tierney will operate and do an amazing job, but trials alternative methods prior to surgery.
Dr. Tierney is the best! Knowledgeable, patient, puts you at ease. A true professional. You can't go wrong with him as your doctor.
Verified patient

I have been with Dr. Tierney for years and he is awesome. Very professional and listens to how you are feeling. The office staff and professional s are very friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this doctor.

Dr Tierney is a no hold back Dr. He gets right to the point and tells you exactly what needs to be done and how it needs to be done. Dr Tierney is now my brothers ortho surgeon also. My brother has had surgery done on his shoulder 2-3 x prior to Dr Tierney . He decided to have Dr Tierney do his surgery last year and said his shoulder has never been better.
Verified patient
Staff was very professional and acommodating to schedule an Xray and MRI. Dr Tierney reviewed the data with me and explained his findings/concerns.
He is very good at explaining every concern and issue going on. The steps we will take to rectify the issues and the attention to detail on what he will do and how he will go about doing it.

Everything went smooth very satisfied
We loved Dr. Tierney. He explained everything regarding the fractured ankle thoroughly; he really studied the x-rays and explained what we were seeing on them. Plus he has a great personality, jokes around a little bit, and seems to genuinely enjoy talking to patients.
Verified patient
Was a great experience, I went to Doctor Tierney because I had heard good things about him and they were right. He broke down and showed various diagrams on what the situation was in my knee. Going into it I hadn't known what was wrong with it but leaving the office I had an answer and a referral for physical therapy. Was a very nice guy and made the process of going to the doctors smooth and helpful. Was able to give me treatment in the office for the pain also which was great. Very personable to and held a clean and nice office. The ladies at the front desk are also very nice and able to answer all questions and even before the appointment make sure was reminded of it and given details on their procedure. Felt like a genuine patient and was interested in what had happened not just a basic doctor visit. Very nice experience and would recommend to anyone for orthopedics!
Verified patient
Dr. Tierney was very friendly/chatty but he did not even really examine my ankles nor order any imaging, even though I had not had xrays for over a year and a half. He gave me a night-splint that is way to big for me.
I have seen many orthopedics for different reasons and no one is like John Tierney. I wish I would have seen him 2 years back.He is the best. I would go back to him again and again.
Verified patient
Waited for a long period of time with very few other patients in the office. Doctor eventually came in to examine me and provided a diagnosis and treatment plan which I found to be satisfactory and efficient. Had the appointment ended there, this would be a different review. However, the doctor then went off on a long rant about the COVID19 pandemic and politics which I found to be highly inappropriate and unbecoming of a physician whose duties should be to disseminate proper information to their patients and look out for vulnerable members of the community. The COVID19 pandemic is serious and ALL doctors should be encouraging their patients to listen to public health experts and follow guidelines, rather than spreading misleading information and suggesting that the pandemic response has been overblown. I also found this doctor's political ramblings to be very inappropriate. I felt very uncomfortable for the entire duration of the conversation and have no interest in attending a follow-up visit with this doctor.
I was very pleased with the way Dr. T explained how my knee and everything around it worked, and why I was having pain, as well as explaining treatments and methods we could agree on, really down to earth, and very open and honest professional
Verified patient
Excellent visit. Dr. Tierney took the time to explain my situation in great detail. He described pre and post-op procedures, the surgery itself, alternatives to surgery, his philosophy regarding knee replacement, the number of knee replacements he has done and the number of knee replacements performed by all the surgeons at New England Baptist. We reviewed my X-Rays together and he explained my options and all the details related to each option. Dr. Tierney was very thorough and we developed a plan of action together.
