About Dr. John Yu
John J. Yu, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in injuries of the shoulder, hip, knee, foot, and ankle. He provides complete, comprehensive, and state-of-the-art orthopedic care, including total joint replacements, sports medicine, and fracture care for patients of all ages. His expertise encompasses both nonoperative and operative (arthroscopic) treatment of shoulder, hip, knee, foot, and ankle disorders. Dr. Yu specializes in joint cartilage restoration and preservation of the knee and ankle, surgery of the meniscus, rotator cuff, and labrum, as well as ligament and tendon repair and reconstruction of the knee, shoulder, and ankle.
Dr. Yu earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. He completed his internship in General Surgery, residency in Orthopedic Surgery, and fellowship in Foot and Ankle Surgery at New York University Langone Hospital.
He has published, lectured, and presented on a variety of orthopedic topics, including total ankle replacement and sports-related injuries of the hip and ankle. Before joining Orlin and Cohen, Dr. Yu was a partner at Long Island Bone and Joint.

I am a patient of the drs from when I had meniscus surgery 2 years ago.
I’m having a hip issue now. Dr Yu and Jordan looked over my MRI and X-rays and figured out a plan to get me back to myself. I’m convinced it will help me. I have a follow up in 6 weeks and I hope I’m back to feeling better. Thank you! And a shout out to the girls at the front desk too! They are very efficient and kind. The whole office is great.
