Getting to know Dr. Joseph O'Donnell

Having been brought up to care about others, it was a natural fit. It is challenging and exciting to create the conditions for improvement and see it happen. In neurofeedback treatment, the compelling motive for continuing what I do is: It works. I most enjoy seeing individuals who had little hope for improvement actually improve.
I tend to take a relaxed, easygoing style, particularly with children. Too professional of a veneer tends to frighten kids, so I want to engage them in a friendly way. Aware of their difficulties, my staff and I approach our clients’ issues always with a smile and hope. I am genuinely concerned about my clients and convey strong empathy toward their problems.
I hold a PhD in Psychology from Northwestern University, a Master’s in Business Administration from DeVry University, a Master’s from United States International University, and a Bachelor’s degree from the College of the Holy Cross.

As always, my visit was perfect. Professional, caring, and very supportive. Dr. Joe and the technicians are superior in their knowledge, treatment, and methodology. I am and have always been confident my mental health is in the appropriate and successful practice. I have benefitted in many ways from the protocols and encouragement I've received at Dr. O'Donnels practice.

My experience at the dcotor's office was very good. The staff had all paperwork ready, I was seen right away. At first I was surprised not to see your regular "psychotherapy setting" (couch or a comfy chair). But then I realized that this particular doctor simply uses different technique or approach, which, in turn, made more sense to me. This was not your typical "take this pill and see how you feel" approach. The doctor explained in detail what tests he would like to run before he decides what intervention to do. I love when doctors treat you with dignity. Highly recommend!
