Dr. Joseph O. Rahimian earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from the State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center. He completed both his residency and fellowship training at New York University Medical Center, finishing in 2004. Dr. Rahimian is an experienced physician specializing in men’s health, infections, STDs, HIV, HIV prevention, and general medical care, with over 16 years of practice.

I've been looking for a good primary care physician for quite a while. I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Rahimian. He gave a thorough exam, has a good sense of humor, asked good questions. The technician who gave me an EKG was also very nice. Extra plus: the office overlooks Washington Square Park. You can see trees out the window. I feel this is a physician I can trust.

I came to this doctor for a condition I've had for 6 months. After seeing two urologists, I went to Dr. Rahimian because I was recommended to go to an infectious disease doctor. He barely paid attention to what I was say and I left with a recommendation to just take Advil for a month, even though I said that none of those work. Don't waste your time or money.

Dr. Rahimian was thoughtful but tries to get what he needs to say out quickly and it seems as though I was being rushed.
Side note - the front desk woman was absolutely horrible. Rude, didn't care about what was going on and seemed frustrated. Forget her name but she was very unprofessional

Dr. Rahimian was excellent. The office staff need to work on their customer service skills. I entered the office and was merely stared at by the person working behind the desk. Even if your job title is not receptionist, if you are sitting in that position, you are the front person for the office and need to behave as such.

Dr. Rahimian was very helpful and knowledgeable in going over what I might need for traveling, and kind enough to answer all my questions. He was also considerate and made sure I understood what my insurance would and would not cover before going forward. I would definitely recommend him!

Great Doctor. Smart, caring, but to the point. I was seen right away for an 8:15 a.m. appointment and was out the door by 8:30 a.m. Highly recommended.

The Dr was attentive and knowledgeable but the appointment was very rushed. I was promptly escorted out of the room prior to all my needs being addressed.

Dr Rahimian was very responsive to all of my questions and seemed very knowledgeable. He did a thorough check-up and I had no problems with waiting or insurance. One small issue is that the office is a bit run-down.

He was nice and matter-of-fact-like. If you're looking for someone that is all smiles and coddling then he's not your man. If you need the business done with no frills then he's cool. Not saying he's a robot, he was professional and listened well. Will definitely continue to see him for at least a few more times. I can give a more accurate review after that.
If the look/state of the office is something that matters to you, then I'd say this guy is a "maybe" for you. Didn't bother me, it was a very typical doctor's office from my experience. I feel like a nice/pretty/fancy looking doctor's office is not the norm, it's the exception.
