Josh has taught courses in multicultural psychology and values learning about and working with diverse populations. In 2019 Josh created the Racial Healing Podcast, interviewing people about their experiences with race, racism, and healing. Josh employs techniques and ideas from various theoretical frameworks in order to empower clients to create change and increase joy. He is well-versed in psychodynamic theory, and cognitive behavioral therapy, and also employs some techniques from family systems theory and gestalt psychotherapy. Josh received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from DePaul University in 2006. From then until January 2015 he was on staff at the University of Chicago Student Counseling Service. In 2008, Josh started this practice, which grew into a full time in January 2015. Josh trained in counseling centers at the University of Southern California (USC) and the School of the Art Institute in Chicago (SAIC). Josh is a member of Divisions 45 (The Society for the Psychological Study of Culture, Race, Ethnicity, and Race) and Division 49 (Society of Group Psychology and Group Psychotherapy) of the American Psychological Association.
