About Dr. Kambiz Shekib
Dr. Kambiz Shekib is a highly skilled physician with considerable experience, having been practicing medicine for over twenty years. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and has treated patients in a variety of settings, offering both inpatient and outpatient care in private practices and hospitals alike.
Since childhood, Dr. Shekib has been fascinated by science – specifically biology and medicine. He immigrated to the United States from his native Iran in the 1980s and settled in Brooklyn. After receiving his undergraduate education from Yeshiva University, Dr. Shekib completed medical school at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine, attaining his M.D. in 1995. He fulfilled his residency at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park. In the subsequent two decades, Dr. Shekib has given care in a variety of contexts, practicing at the New York Medical & Diagnostic Center and the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, as well as eight years at his own private practice in Jamaica, Queens.
Dr. Shekib’s approach to treatment centers on compassion and understanding for each patient’s individual needs. He believes in establishing a real relationship and building trust so that each of his patients is empowered to make the right decisions and get the healthcare they need. Dr. Shekib joined the team at Medical Offices of Manhattan in early 2021.

Actually my worst experience with a doctor ever. Went in for what i suspected was a UTI/ kidney infection and was immediately told my heart rate was dangerously high and was subjected to tests on my heart for two hours. The doctor did not explain what these tests were or their purpose. I was finally given a UTI test at the very end of the visit and was only told then that i would not receive results for 3-5 business days. When asked if there was anything i could start doing or taking to make myself feel better until i got test results back the doctor told me there was no possible way he could give me medication when he doesn’t know what i have. I went to a city MD the next day and within 15 minutes was told i had a UTI and kidney infection and prescribed antibiotics. I seriously think this place is committing insurance fraud or something.

I honestly had a pretty bad experience. I had come in with a query about an infected scab. He touched it with his bare fingers to "prove" it was not infected. Immediately after, he suggested that I do an X-ray or MRI to check on it more. It felt like he was just trying to ring in more money from more check-ups due to his lower rating compared to his colleagues.

I expected an annual physical to be straight forward, and it was, but the one main issue I wanted to address really felt dismissed, only to receive a referral to a different practice, when I'm 99% sure it could have been handled on site that day. I also had bloodwork done and the person administering it made a careless error with the timing of deactivating the needle and I've had a large, deep bruise on my arm for 6 days now, which is totally unacceptable knowing it's avoidable. Also, as I was checking in, the person at the front desk completely mixed me up with another patient and tried to tell me my insurance was inactive. I only attended this office because they appeared to be in network, but based on my experience, I will not be surprised if I receive any surprise/after thought bills later on. Would not recommend.

unwilling to fill out medical paperwork for a foster parent program on a healthy 30yr old. told me better to go with any other Dr that seen me before because he can't ( I guess wouldn't ) do blood work and an EKG that day. waste of everyone involved time.

If I go to the doctor for shoulder pain, I don't want a referral to get my colon checked. It's sad when doctors ignore the patients and attempt to make a profit.

I would not recommend this location and the doctor.
1- I had a bunch of basic covid questions like am I eligible for booster shot in the future? And Dr. responded by saying “l don’t know, I’m not a Covid expert”
2- He kept forgetting the information about my symptoms even though he had it written on his board
3- The office forces you to setup a followup appt after blood work to make that extra cash. Specifically during covid times, this could be a phone chat.
4- Wait time is horrendous. Almost an hour just to follow-up on blood work. I was asked to come on time or else they charge $$$ as a fee. But even if you come on time they make you wait for over an hour inside a room. You are better off going to another facility in my opinion.
Conclusion- I think the front end office needs a better time management tool or process. Doctor is fine as a PCP.

Dr. Shakib was amazing!!! There were questions that I needed answered from a previous dr. @ a different practice & Dr. Shakib, in one visit, was able to answer all of my questions. I will be back to see him at the practice for all the care I need. He was astounding and had great bedside manner.

This was one of the best visits I have had. The wait time was less than 5 minutes, with being able to pre-checkin prior to coming in. The staff was very nice and helpful. It was very clean and organized as well. Highly recommend.
