About Dr. Kateryna Nahornyak
Dr. Kateryna Nahornyak is a board-certified optometrist by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Nahornyak is a comprehensive optometrist specializing in all aspects of medical eye care including diagnosing and treating glaucoma, dry eye, retinal conditions and other eye-related issues.
She grew up in Bellmore, NY and completed her undergraduate studies majoring in Health Science with a concentration in Environmental Health and Safety from Stony Brook University in May of 2017. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in New York. Dr. Nahornyak has served in the field of Ophthalmology for 7 years, completing clinical training at The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai in NYC as well as the Northport Veterans Association. She speaks Russian, Ukrainian, English and medical Spanish.
Dr. Nahornyak joined LIOC as an ophthalmic technician in January of 2021 with the intention to complete optometry school and return to LIOC as a medical optometrist.
When she is not taking care of patients, Dr. Nahornyak enjoys going to spin class, exploring new wineries, and traveling.

Great friendly staff; quick call as well as adjustable time; the only thing I would of liked to change is; before the nurse who put the strong eye drops in my eyes to have worked me that they were going to burn a little so this way I wasn’t caught off guard; Overall I will highly recommend them; also very clean office and top notch equipment.

Dr. Kateryna Nahornyak is an over-the-top amazing optometrist. She was incredibly thorough with my exam and took the time to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. She’s kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring, which instantly put me at ease. I also really appreciated how she went above and beyond by documenting and “coloring in” everything in detail so nothing was missed. You can tell she truly takes pride in her work and wants the best for her patients. I highly recommend her.

The Dr. and her assistance were a breath of fresh air . The Doctor explained everything to me and answered all my questions and didn't rush me . I told her why I had came in due to a previous complication that I thought may have affected my eye , and she was amazing in taking her time with me .
The assistance was also a joy ( I'm sorry I do not remember her name ) . She was amazing to talk to and was very warm and professional .
I will always come back if I ever find I need to .
