Getting to know Dr. Kathleen Lopez

I am a board-certified Psychiatrist specializing in adult psychiatry. Originally from the San Fernando Valley in California, I completed my B.S. in Psychology with a pre-med focus at Pacific Union College. I earned my medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine, followed by an adult psychiatry residency at the University of California, Riverside, and a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UCLA, where I also served as Administrative Chief. I have a deep passion for increasing access to high-quality mental health care, particularly for neurodiverse youth and adults. Fluent in both English and Spanish, I am committed to providing inclusive, empathetic care that supports individuals and their families in meaningful ways.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Thank you for your interest in working with me. Please note that your appointment will be confirmed once you speak with one of our patient care coordinators, who will verify that we are the best fit for you. I love helping clients live their best lives. My ideal client is willing to work with me to achieve their goals. I specialize in treating various forms of depression, such as unipolar, bipolar, postpartum, etc., and especially treatment-resistant cases. I also treat anxiety disorders, PTSD, and attention disorders such as ADD and ADHD. I primarily treat patients in the age range of 18-65.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take a holistic approach to treatment, considering the whole individual and family system to create a personalized treatment plan. Using a shared decision-making model, I collaborate closely with clients to provide interventions that improve the key areas of life necessary for overall health and wellness.
