Dr. Kathryn Clower Martine My Story: I grew up outside of Atlanta in Peachtree City, Georgia, and always knew I wanted a career in the medical field. I started my Bachelor's degree at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Georgia. During my time there, my health began to take a toll, so I turned to a very common medication to help address some of my symptoms. Within weeks of taking the medication, I began to experience new symptoms that turned out to be a life-threatening side effect. I was hospitalized for over a week before I was stable enough to be released and then continued to struggle with residual effects of the medication for months after. During my healing, I began searching for natural alternatives to heal the body and was led to Chiropractic. I transferred to Life University in Marietta, Georgia, where I completed my Bachelor's degree in Biology and then earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree. During my studies at Life University, I was able to heal from anxiety, chronic digestive issues, allergies, hormonal imbalances, and headaches that had been treated from an allopathic model but never eliminated. My health, path, and life were forever changed because of Chiropractic, and it is what drives my passion to help others experience what true health and healing are about. After graduating, I moved to Destin, Florida, and have had the privilege of working in many different areas within my field, developing my skill set. I have worked with professional athletes focusing on sports and performance-based care. I have also had the privilege to work alongside many amazing physicians in orthopedic, podiatric, physical therapy, and pain management fields. Truly, where my passion grew was as the clinic director of a wellness-based clinic with passionate holistic healers treating patients throughout their pregnancies and patients as young as a couple days old all the way through their elder years.
