About Dr. Kathryn McCarthy

Dr. McCarthy, D.C. began working in the medical field while in high school as a physical therapy aide. This job peaked her interest in physical medicine, so she went on to study Scientific and Technical Communications with a pre-health sciences focus at the University of Minnesota. While in college, she interned with the University of Minnesota Athletic Medicine department treating athletes in a variety of sports. After observing practitioners in a multitude of medical disciplines, she decided that chiropractic best helped patients recover and function optimally, thus beginning her journey in chiropractic medicine. Dr. McCarthy attended Palmer College of Chiropractic in San Jose, CA, where she was involved in treating athletes, geriatrics, and pediatrics using a wide variety of techniques. While in school, she became a Certified Personal Trainer and began to see the benefit of consistent and proper exercise in preventing injury and maintaining maximal function. Upon graduation, Dr. McCarthy began working at an integrated medical clinic in Chicago, which emphasized physical rehabilitation and injury prevention in conjunction with the chiropractic adjustments. Dr. McCarthy recently moved to San Diego and is excited to escape snowy winters and enjoy all that San Diego has to offer.

Dr. McCarthy was awesome! Great bedside manner, helped dumb down things for us nonmedical folk. It's hard for some chiropractors to adjust me properly, as I'm a bigger guy. However, McCarthy was able to apply enough pressure to hit the sweet spot. Will definitely see again!
