He invented a guiding catheter exchange system developed by Cordis Corporation and has served on numerous committees, including as Chairman of Sentara's Interventional/Invasive Committee, Cardiac Clinical Effectiveness Committee, and others focused on quality improvement, critical care, and vascular education. Dr. Prewitt is an author of multiple peer-reviewed articles and has delivered invited presentations at national and regional conferences, including the American College of Physicians and Society for Cardiac Angiography.
