He completed a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine at the Andrews Institute for Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Gulf Breeze, FL, working under the leadership of world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, Dr. James Andrews. During his sports medicine fellowship, he learned the latest techniques in treating knee injuries, elbow complications, and shoulder conditions in athletes of all ages. He also learned how to manage an entire sports program and the relationships between parents, teams, and coaches that coincide with that management. Dr. Witte is a team doctor for Avila University in Kansas City. He is an associate clinical professor of KCU and the chief of surgery at St. Luke’s South Hospital. Dr. Witte’s passions include athletic injury prevention, regenerative medicine, and injuries of the throwing athlete. Those who know Dr. Witte will say he carries steadfast love and kindness in all he does. An avid hunter, fisherman, and overall outdoorsman, he is driven to help patients live healthy and active lifestyles. Outside of orthopedics, Dr. Witte can be found outdoors, golfing, cheering on Mizzou athletics, or at home with his wife and three children.
