About Dr. Kira Winston

Kira E. Winston, OD, is a board-certified Comprehensive Optometrist serving patients at our Dunwoody location. She specializes in primary care optometry and contact lenses. Dr. Winston attended the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN, where she received her Doctorate of Optometry and is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. After graduating with honors, she returned to her home state of Georgia to practice full scope and provide exceptional eye care to her patients. Before receiving her optometric education, Dr. Winston graduated from the University of Georgia in Athens with a degree in Biology. During her time at the Southern College of Optometry, she excelled both academically and clinically. Dr. Winston was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society, as well as being on the executive board of the student chapter of her state association. She is currently an active member of the Georgia Optometric Association. Dr. Winston completed her clinical training with an emphasis on ocular disease and perioperative surgical care at Georgia Eye Partners in Atlanta, and in primary care and contact lenses at Family Vision Care in Charleston. Her interests outside optometry include traveling, being outdoors, and staying active.
