About Dr. Kok-Min Kyan
Dr. Kyan attended the City College of New York where he received his Bachelor of Science in biochemistry. He then completed his medical degree at New York Medical College in Valhalla. Dr. Kyan completed further postgraduate training at the Staten Island University Hospital in New York.
Kok-min Kyan, MD, is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist with the team at Lenox OBGYN, located in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, New York.
With over 18 years of experience, Dr. Kyan has extensive experience as an OBGYN seeing patients through labor and delivery, caring for diversified medical OBGYN issues, and supervising the work of OBGYN residents. Dr. Kyan also does patient delivery and gynecological surgeries at Lenox Hill Hospital in the Upper East Side of New York City. We saw this doctor initially, briefly, in March to begin trying to conceive. This summer we got a positive home test and made an appointment to confirm by blood. This doctor refused to take a beta HCG, but did an ultrasound at 3wks so he could charge insurance for it and tell us we were not pregnant, and “to go on vacation and stop the obsession”. We felt incredibly confused in the moment about why a TVUS was being done and not a simple blood test, but I’ll-equipped to challenge it. They took my urine, but refused to also do a urine test in office. He said he didn’t want to “waste a test.” My chart notes said: patient thought she had a positive home pregnancy test, but did not. Tested positive for another 5 days at home. Went to a different doctor and confirmed we are pregnant. While he was really kind, the ignorance of our concerns and insurance charge for the TVUS gives me the biggest red flag about staying with him any further, especially about something so important.

Dr. Kyan has a great bedside manner. He delivered both of my children. I learned that he was no longer in office where I previously saw him, I searched his name and found him. Thank Goodness!

Doctor Kok-min Kyan is very professional and he is very patient with me, because English is my second language, so he spoke slowly to make sure I understand everything. He also wrote down some information about what we did today and what other check up I need to do in the future. I am very grateful that he can be my doctor.
