He is a licensed psychologist with more than 25 years of combined clinical (both military and civilian care), to include multiple combat deployments. Dr. Kratz earned his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fuller Graduate School of Psychology and completed an APA-accredited internship at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in 2000. He also holds a master’s degree in theology from Fuller Theological Seminary. In 2006, he completed an APA-accredited two-year fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Tripler Army Medical Center (also met Houston Conference Guidelines). Dr. Kratz is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in both Clinical Psychology (2006) and Clinical Neuropsychology (2012). Board certification through the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) is a voluntary credential that reflects advanced training, peer review, and demonstrated competency within a specialty area of psychology. National workforce data indicate that approximately 4% of licensed psychologists in the United States hold ABPP board certification. Because only a small subset of ABPP diplomates pursue certification in more than one specialty, psychologists who hold ABPP certification in two specialties represent well under 1% of the overall psychology workforce (ABPP Workforce Report). In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kratz is also an accomplished healthcare leader with extensive experience overseeing mental health services across the full continuum of care, including inpatient services, residential rehabilitation, specialty mental health, outpatient general mental health, and integrated behavioral health within primary care settings.
