About Dr. Larissa Fomitcheva
Larissa Fomitcheva, MD, is an obstetrician and gynecologist with a rich background in sexual and reproductive health care. She provides her services at South Shore Women's Care in Lindenhurst, New York, specializing in high-risk pregnancies, gynecologic surgeries, birth control management, and minimally invasive procedures.
Dr. Fomitcheva began her medical training in Russia, where she conducted extensive research and earned her PhD in medical science. She built upon her experience working in a large, university-based medical center where she specialized in deliveries and high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Fomitcheva moved to the United States to continue her training with an internal medicine residency at Brookdale Hospital and Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York.
Following her residency in internal medicine, Dr. Fomitcheva completed consecutive obstetrics and gynecology residencies at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and the State University of New York Health Science Center (SUNY Downstate) in Brooklyn, New York. She also trained at the Kings County Hospital and The Brooklyn Hospital Center.
Throughout her years in education and training, Dr. Fomitcheva co-authored multiple publications and conducted research in pregnancy and delivery after cesarean section and maternal and fetal complications of the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Soon after finishing her years of training, she became a diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Dr. Fomitcheva holds memberships with the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and the Medical Society of the State of New York. She’s also a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the Suffolk Academy of Medicine. Dr. Fomitcheva also has over a decade of experience in private practice settings, in addition to being a clinical assistant professor.

Dr. Larrisa Formitcheva is the BEST OB /GYN in Long Island. I wish I can find her in ten years ago, so that i don't need to suffer so much pain for over 15 years. I think God help me to find her. She cares about her parents and listened to my concerns and took the time to explain everything to me. She is an amazing doctor. I never had a doctor take the time and care about her patients the way she does. She will continue to be my OB/GYN doctor in the future, even though I moved 1 hour from her office. The front dest girls are amazing too, they are so friendly and caring, aways smiling with people. I highly recommend this office!

This doctor is rude and ignorant. Just got call threating , insult me about my child welfare and this is unexpectable .everybody is not rich to get to places . If you dont have the money you dont have the money .how about new york make it easier for pregnant women to travel like getting a community bus for appointments. All new york i about money grabbing self.This is a awful doctor.!!!!!

Dr. Fomitcheva saw me personally and was patient to answer all my questions and guide me through my first pap smear test. She also took the extra steps to do additional tests to make the most of my visit and provide me with the paperwork I need for another case. Looking forward to seeing her again in a couple of weeks.
