Getting to know Dr. Laura Fogarty
Hello! My name is Laura. I am a licensed psychologist in Ohio. I received my Ph.D. in counseling psychology from Cleveland State University, as well as a Master of Arts from Cleveland State in clinical psychology. Through my training and postdoctoral work, I have worked in various clinical settings, including community mental health, hospital, college counseling center, jail and forensic outpatient, and private practice locations.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My therapeutic style is best described as person-centered, strengths-based, and eclectic. I believe in meeting each person where they are and tailoring the treatment plan to their needs, preferences, and strengths. I am happy to work with all adults in individual counseling, and specialize in work with young adults looking for insight and tools to help navigate life changes and strengthen identity and sense of self.
What is your typical process for working with clients?
Our sessions together will involve working towards treatment goals that we collaboratively develop, but typically include developing tools for coping with presenting symptoms, using your strengths to improve your experience, and gaining deeper insight into your experiences and identity.

Dr. Fogarty is the utmost professional. She is empathetic, understanding, and very solution-focused. I’ve worked with her on case studies and various other projects and cannot recommend her enough. Her kind demeanor is what draws people in, but her work ethic makes them stay.
