Lauren Nelson is a mindful and diligent obstetrician and gynecologist serving the community of Washington, DC. Dr. Nelson attended the University of South Carolina, where she received her medical degree, and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Research Institute.
Dr. Nelson is a part of GWMFA Obstetrics and Gynecology. She gives each patient her focused attention, and she prides herself on delivering the best treatment available.

I had to remind the front desk about my appointment after waiting to be called in for over 20 minutes. My appointment was for 10.15am, but I did not see the doctor until 11.18am. Dr. Nelson then spent less that 5 minutes with me and that included the exam. Dr. Nelson is a pleasant woman but I need a doctor not a pleasant chitchat. I will not return to this office.

Dr. Nelson is absolutely wonderful, and a consummate professional! She is patient in listening to my questions and concerns, and always provides accurate, knowledgeable and thoughtful answers. Her bedside manner is irreproachable - I had never before had a completely comfortable Pap! I've seen her for a number of procedures over the years, and she has always been extremely gentle and efficient. I also appreciate her upbeat and friendly personality, and her prompt follow-up on things from necessary procedures, clarification on medical and prescription updates, to general answers. I plan to have my first child next year, and I wouldn't choose anyone else to oversee my pregnancy and hopefully deliver my baby. I'm so lucky to have found her!

I am continually amazed at the bed side manner and professionalism shown by Dr. Nelson and staff . They went above and beyond to ensure I understood and was comfortable with the procedure. If only all medical appointments could be so pleasant and so efficient ! I was seen right on time and Dr. Nelson inquired at length about how I was feeling and if I was having any issues. She answered my questions and responded thoughtfully and with humor. She has a very gentle touch.
