About Dr. Lauren Outlaw

Dr. Lauren Outlaw is a board certified Ob-Gyn born and raised in South Bend,
Indiana. She attended Xavier University of Louisiana. While at Xavier, she
was a member of the chemistry club, psychology club, Alpha Epsilon Delta,
and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority incorporated. She spent her free time
volunteering with her sorority and various other organizations. She also
worked as a tutor for the Upward Bound Trio Program. She graduated from
Xavier University Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science in
Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. She then matriculated to Indiana
University School of medicine as a Rawl’s Scholar. Medical school is where
she began combining two of her loves, traveling and medicine. While in
medical school, she went to Guatemala and Honduras where she volunteered
and took medical Spanish classes. Upon graduating from medical school she
continued mission work as an Obstetrics and Gynecology resident at Indiana
University School of medicine. Obstetrics and gynecology combined the
things she enjoyed the most about medicine, continuity of care and surgery.
Obstetrics and gynecology at Indiana University also granted her the
opportunity to help make a positive impact on young women locally and
internationally. After graduating from residency, she returned to northern
Indiana where she worked in Elkhart for three years. While working in Elkhart,
she participated in the annual papothon and spoke at various community
events about health care. During the past year, she has worked in Aweil,
South Sudan as a medical officer for Medecins Sans Frontieres Doctors
Without Borders, in a Burmese Refugee camp with the Shoklo Malaria
Research unit as an Ob-gyn, and as a locum ob-gyn physician in rural areas
of Indiana.

This was not my first experience with this office, and unfortunately, it has been consistently disappointing. During my initial visit, I waited nearly an hour past my appointment time. The office appeared disorganized, and staff seemed unsure of what was going on. I only saw the doctor for about five minutes before being sent on my way. Because the doctor seemed knowledgeable and kind, I initially gave the office the benefit of the doubt and assumed it was just an unusually busy day.
However, my follow-up experience was even more frustrating. On the day of my scheduled appointment, I was asked to reschedule. Due to my work commitments, I was unable to adjust my schedule, and the next available appointment was over a month away.
I again waited over an hour without any updates and ultimately had to call the office myself just to get information. Overall, this level of disorganization and lack of respect for patients’ time is highly unprofessional. I would not recommend.

I never saw the doctor. I made an appointment for a mammogram, because it was listed as a service offered on Zocdoc. I never made any appointment for an annual wellness exam, but the office assumed that was what I wanted and did not call me when the appointment was made to clarify. I wasted half a day driving to and from the appointment, waiting in the office, filling out paperwork (after the office gave my medical paperwork to another patient ahead of me) only to be told that they did not offer a mammogram, but could give me a referral. They said they left a message the day before saying this, however I didn’t get the voicemail- I received multiple texts and emails confirming my appointment in advance of that. Not sure why they assumed it was an annual exam when I never requested that appointment. The office was beautiful though.

I usually don’t write reviews, but this is the first time I’ve ever felt truly comfortable in a doctor’s office—especially at a gynecologist. I felt genuinely heard and was given solutions right away. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, always smiling. I absolutely love this place—may God bless all the ladies there. Dr. Outlaw was amazing and truly exceptional at what she does!

Great new patient experience! Dr. Outlaw is very personable and listened to my concerns. I was able to get a biopsy right away to move forward in diagnosing and treating my symptoms. She explained the procedure clearly and let me know when to expect the results. Staff were also super welcoming and pleasant. I would definitely recommend her.

I went to see Dr. Outlaw for an infection and it was a painless as a process can be. Her staff called in advance to confirm my appointment and were ready for me when I arrived. My wait time was less than fifteen minutes and Dr. Outlaw was professional and friendly. They called with my lab results and prescription change already phoned into my pharmacy, which was really helpful.

My appointment with Dr. Outlaw went smoothly. Def give yourself 15mins before your appointment to complete an intake with a nurse. Some of the questions are random, but it aligns with the office’s mission of overall health and well-being. I’m in between OB-GYNs at this time since UHC cancelled their contract with CWC, but Dr. Outlaw proved to be exactly what I needed for today. She also was patient, thorough and answered all of my questiosn without making me feel rushed.
