About Dr. Lauren Wolitzer
Dr. Lauren Wolitzer, formerly Dr. Lauren Smith, received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) College of Optometry. Before her graduate education, Dr. Wolitzer received her B.A. in Psychology cum laude from New York University. Dr. Wolitzer has experience with complicated refractions (eyeglass prescription testing) and contact lens fittings.
She works extensively with all types of contact lenses from routine fittings to specialty custom lenses for irregular corneas. Dr. Wolitzer is known for her compassionate and thoughtful approach to fitting multifocal and monovision contact lenses in order to help each patient achieve their visual needs. Dr. Wolitzer completed a three-month intensive rotation in a specialty contact lens clinic where she received additional training in diagnosing and fitting patients with keratoconus and irregular corneas.
Additionally, Dr. Wolitzer was the 2013 recipient of the American Optometric Foundation Award of Excellence in Contact Lens Patient Care. In addition to comprehensive vision care, she manages and treats an array of ocular diseases including glaucoma and dry eye.

Dr. Lauren was incredibly thorough and detailed! She answered all of my questions. I had shown up an hour early to my appointment by mistake and she was able to squeeze me in between appointments. Even with that, she was so detailed, and I didn’t feel rushed at all! And she even walked me through results of my eye health in real time, pointing to different scans to explain what she was seeing. Will definitely be back!

Everyone involved in the appointment was so kind! I wanted contacts for the first time, and although this wasn't clear at time of booking. they accommodated me and ran the appointment so efficiently with my contact training so that I didn't have extra wait time between dilation, etc. Dr. Wolitzer is really great, as well as Mimi and Tianna who helped with me with the lenses and checking out.
