About Dr. Leia Dawson
I'm Dr. Leia Dawson, and I'm honored to serve as the Medical Director for American Family Care - AFC East Cobb.
I'm a proud alumna of Xavier University of Louisiana, where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree with double minors in chemistry and Spanish, including a semester of studies in Seville, Spain. Continuing my education, I obtained a master's in public health degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham, with research experience in St. Ann, Jamaica, resulting in a publication. I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey (formerly the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey). I completed my residency in Family Medicine at Floyd Medical Center.
At AFC East Cobb, I'm excited to bring my wealth of expertise and leadership to our dedicated team of 14 staff members, ensuring the clinic operates at the highest standard of patient care. My appointment as Medical Director is aimed at making a significant impact on East Cobb's healthcare landscape, aligning with AFC's mission of providing exceptional medical services to the community.
I am also scheduling immigration physicals for families or individuals in need.
