About Dr. Lena Carr
Dr. Carr specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. She enjoys the positive interactions she has with pregnant and non-pregnant patients. Dr. Carr finds fulfillment in counseling patients on diagnosis and treatment options to empower them to make the most informed decision that works for them.
Dr. Carr is board certified in obstetrics and gynecology. She obtained her BS in Biology from San Diego State University. Dr. Carr practiced as an EMT before entering medical school at Lincoln Memorial University DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine to obtain her D.O. She completed her four year residency at Ascension St. John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Warren Campus in 2016. Dr. Carr is a fellow of the American College of Osteopathic Obstetricians and Gynecology in addition to the Michigan Osteopathic Association.

Had a great visit! Very clean and professional as well. I was more than satisfied with my visit. I even got a prescription for this skin condition I was worried about and she knew exactly what that was. I can’t wait to see Dr. Carr again!

She gave me a hard time about not having the flu vaccine and a few other vaccines. I understand we are in challenging times but she should not try to bully me into getting a vaccine. As soon as I said no she changed her tone to being less friendly towards me. Will be changing offices after this.

This was my second time seeing Dr. Carr. I had been looking for a women’s health provider in the metro Detroit area for a while and I really recommend her. She listens well and provides suggestions based on your particular lifestyle. I will definitely be going back for any issues and for my annual exams.

Very informative and knowledgeable of questions and concerns that I had regarding my reproductive system. Follow up that if those steps doesn't work that I can always email or come for another visit.

Asked how many people I’ve slept with and acted surprised and dramatic about my answer. Asked if I’ve had an std before and I said no, she said really?? You haven’t? And then asked my sexual orientation and when I said I’m bi she said and you really haven’t had an std?? This behavior is slut shaming and biphobic and made me uncomfortable. Those questions also seemed innapriopriate. I started crying cus I got nervous for the exam and I was upset and then there was a lot of questions not asked in a gentle way about my history of sexual abuse. It was an uncomfortable experience, I feel bad even writing a review but maybe it will bring awareness so other people feel more comfortable in the future.

Dr. Carr was the epitome of excellence! She patiently asked all of my questions and didn't make me feel that I was being rushed. Her bedside manner is the best I've ever experienced and she has a way of making you feel as comfortable as if you were talking to an old friend.
