“I got what I needed from the appointment but I found Dr. Kardos to be a little abrasive and dismissive, and she seemed to really want to recommend a particular procedure to me (and had a promotional card handy). This in particular gave me pause because it seemed like maybe she was getting a kickback on the procedure in question and was therefore pushing it.”

About Dr. Leslie Kardos
A native San Franciscan, Dr. Leslie Kardos has practiced Obstetrics and Gynecology for over twenty years. She completed her undergraduate degree in French and Physiology at UC Berkeley. She then moved to Boston and received her MD from Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Kardos did her residency training at Harbor UCLA Medical Center. During this time she completed a course in advanced laparoscopy and was appointed administrative chief resident.
Dr. Kardos has become one of the leading gynecological surgeons in the Bay Area. She specializes in advanced laparoscopy and robotic surgery. Her goal is to offer minimally invasive surgery whenever possible.
Dr. Leslie Kardos is a clinical instructor at UCSF Medical School where she is involved in teaching students and residents. At UCSF she is also responsible for training fourth year residents in robotic surgery.
Since 2008, Dr. Kardos is an official proctor for Intuitive Surgical da Vinci minimally invasive robotic procedures. With completion of more than 1,000 robotic GYN surgical cases and over 100 cases using single site, Dr. Kardos has done more procedures than the majority of surgeons performing da Vinci Surgery today. With this experience, other surgeons refer their patients to her, ask her to help them do procedures or teach them how to do procedures in their own hospitals
Dr. Kardos is Chief of Gynecology and Director of Gynecologic Robotic Surgery at California Pacific Medical Center. There she serves on the Medical Executive and New Technology Committees.
She is an active member of the San Francisco Gyn Society, San Francisco Medical Society, SRS (Society of Robotic Surgery), AAGL and Society for Laparoscopic Surgeons.
Leslie is the mother of two girls. She enjoys dancing, skiing, jewelry making and is fluent in French and Spanish.

Went in hoping to get some insight into IUDs and options, mentioned I was squeamish and anxious around medical things. Instead was dismissed and uncomfortably probed, felt like I was being “dramatic” and didn’t get answers to my questions at all. Overall was totally shocked at how unpleasant the appt was. Dr felt cold/lacking empathy

Solid appointment. She listened to my concerns and the appointment was quick. Only strange thing was while my legs were still up in stirrups after my Pap smear she gave my HPV shot and I was kind of shocked that I couldn’t close my legs first. Lol.

Dr. Kardos' staff was friendly and helpful- even getting me in 2 hours early for my appointment because I had misremembered my correct appointment time. Dr. Kardos is knowledgeable and helpful, and quite succinct. She gave me plenty of time to express my concerns and even went back into the room with me when I remembered another question I had for her.

I went to see Dr. Kardos due to an issue I've been having over the course of several years that I wasn't able to solve after seeing two other doctors. Dr. Kardos listened well and quickly identified the issue. It's a great relief to finally understand the problem and have a solution.

The doctor didn’t prescribe the medication to cvs. Went to cvs twice, The cvs folks said they haven’t received prescription. Please don’t do that to patients. My condition has worsened and I need to consult another doctor for the same thing.
