Dr. M, as she's affectionately known, views human beings as having vast amounts of potential that is often diminished by various complications and circumstances. Her passion is helping clients flourish and become the best versions of themselves. Currently, Dr. M works with adults and teens at the Montesano Psychological Center, engaging in individual, group, and equine-assisted psychotherapy. With a strong background in existential philosophy and person-centered psychotherapy, her priority is designing unique and individualized treatment plans that incorporate each client’s goals and desires for their future and well-being rather than her own. In addition, Dr. M serves as the Director of Clinical Training at Guada Psychological Services. There, she trains and supervises aspiring clinicians in evidence-based psychotherapies such as CBT, ACT, H-E, and Person-Centered Therapy, while emphasizing warmth, empathy, and genuineness within the therapeutic relationship. After earning her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Florida State University, Dr. M completed a Master’s degree and worked in low-income communities conducting home visits and safety checks with the FACT team. Following this, she spent two years providing care to individuals with traumatic brain injuries before dedicating five years to intensive study at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where she earned her PsyD in Clinical Psychology. During her training, she gained experience in health psychology, outpatient and inpatient care, and community psychology at prestigious sites such as Northwestern University’s Family Health Center in Humboldt Park, The Circle Center for Women, Riveredge Hospital, and Illinois Masonic Medical Center.
