Dr. Lisa Martén is an ophthalmologist, refractive surgeon, and specialist in cornea and external disease treating patients in San Antonio, Texas, and the surrounding communities. Her approach centers on time and dedication, making sure to fully explain eye conditions and treatment options to each of her patients. She holds certification from the American Board of Ophthalmology and is the medical director and owner of South Texas Eye Institute.
For her undergraduate degree, Dr. Martén attended Tulane University. She conducted graduate studies through the university’s School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, completing a master’s degree in nutrition. At the university’s medical school, Dr. Martén completed her medical degree. She received her residency training in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center and completed a fellowship program at the Wang Vision Institute.

This place is awful I would not recommend it to anyone. This place is very unprofessional I waited over 2 hours to see a doctor and still I didn’t see the doctor. They didn’t have the courtesy to let me know they were going to dilate my eyes so I didn’t know I wasn’t going to be able to see for 4-6 hours. They don’t tell you this and they expect you to drive home on your own. Worst part is the wait to see the doctor. Never ever going back to this place. I had to leave I was so upset with their unprofessionalism.

I made an appointment with Dr. Lisa Marten but ended up being seen by Dr. Leon. I don't know the reason as to why this happen but regardless Dr. Leon was great! I would highly recommend her.

This was my first visit with Dr. Marten. Her office was able to get me in within two days when my regular Dr. couldn't see me for three weeks:( My visit was great, prompt, courteous and the office has first rate equipment and facilities. Dr. Marten is now my new regular Dr.!

I arrived an hour early prepared to wait. After 15 mins. they started processing me. Everyone smiled, laughed, and kept me informed with what was going on.

My husband and I both received high quality care by Lisa Marten and staff. My husband received prk and I received lasik a year after. Lisa plus staff calmed my nerves and gained my trust since I was afraid of the process and that something may go wrong. They even gave me a stress ball during the procedure and a blanket. Thus, they were very attentive during the process.

While the wait to be seen was right at an hour, the staff were courteous and offered hot coffee and snacks. I was there a total of two and half hours. One hour waiting from 10:30 to 11:30 and then various eye exams including a dilation of my eyes which required a bit of a wait time, but the everyone was so attentive and pleasant that the time when by fast.
