About Dr. Lonnie Davis
Ortho OIC Orthopaedic Immediate Care is an orthopedic specialty urgent care serving the Washington DC, Northern Virginia, and Maryland metro areas. The facility was developed to treat urgent orthopedic injuries of all types, including knee sprains, back and neck pain, shoulder injuries, and sports injuries. Dr. Lonnie Davis is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, Medical Director, and founder of Ortho OIC. He completed his medical degree at the University of Virginia, followed by a residency in Orthopedic Surgery at Indiana University and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Georgetown University. In his outpatient orthopaedic surgery practice, he performs many general orthopaedic procedures but has a special interest in caring for patients with active lifestyles. He is particularly skilled in arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle. Restoration of normal function is achieved through both non-surgical and surgical treatment options. He strives to thoroughly educate patients regarding their condition, treatment, and goals.
Dr. Davis has authored several papers and book chapters on sports-related injuries and has presented at local and national meetings. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, and a member of the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine.
Dr. Davis has held a lifelong interest in sports. He was a standout student-athlete playing high school football, track and field, and basketball in Indiana. He went on to compete on both the football and track and field teams at Cornell University, where he earned his bachelor's degree.
Dr. Davis continues to maintain an active lifestyle. His recent notable accomplishments include completing the New York City Marathon and the Indianapolis 500 Half Marathon. He has also participated in many charity events, including a medical mission throughout India.
