Dr. Louis S. Angioletti is a Board Certified ophthalmologist specializing in Vitreoretinal Surgery and in macular disease. He is a graduate of Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed his ophthalmology residency at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai. Dr. Angioletti is currently a Senior Attending Surgeon at New York Eye and Ear Infirmary of Mount Sinai and an active member of the voluntary teaching staff. He has contributed to the training of Ophthalmology Residents and Retina Fellows since 1992. Dr. Angioletti is considered an expert in the diagnosis and treatment of Retinal Detachments, Macular Hole Repair, Macular Pucker Surgery as well as Age-Related Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy. Dr. Angioletti has authored a textbook chapter on Vitreoretinal Surgery and contributed to professional journal articles on the subject of surgical retina. He has presented papers and myriad posters at the annual ARVO (Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology) Meeting. Dr. Angioletti currently holds the academic title of Associate Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology of the Carl Icahn School of Medicine of Mount Sinai. He has been the Retina Department’s representative to the Operating Room Committee since 2006 and is currently the ranking member of that committee. Dr. Angioletti is a four term Chairman of the Medical Board (of New York Eye and Ear Infirmary) and has served as an elected representative to the board since 2014.
