About Dr. Magdy Girgis

Dr. Girgis received his undergraduate degree and Medical Degree from Ein Shams University in Cairo. He did an internship at Herrick Hospital in Berkeley, followed by a one-year surgical residency at Highland Hospital in Oakland. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, and is Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has been in private practice in Oakland since 1975. He is fluent in Arabic.

It was a pleasant doctor and staff experience. Friendly, professional, prompt service.
Excellent as always & informative. Dr. Girgis is always very patient & caring.
It was great, gave me all the answers that I want.
Dr. Girgis was kind and well intentioned. A woman nurse observed the pap smear which made it feel even safer. However, there were moments where generational gaps *definitely* shone through: Dr. Girgis commented on my weight ("I can't nag you about it this time around!"), and didn't let me know he was going to perform a breast exam (which I was not there for) while the attendant wasn't in the room. He also suggested using coconut oil as lubricant, which I know is highly comodogenic (clogs pores) so can irritate and alter one's pH.
