“Marci is the first therapist I've actually stuck with for longer than a few sessions. I feel like we really have a similar sense of humor and outlook on life, and she really listens and adapts to what I need. She uses a blend of IFS and other therapy styles to really unpack what's going on with me. I've appreciated the slow approach to really get into the heart of my struggles. One minor challenge of working with her has been that we both tend to get off track of the conversation pretty easily, so we maybe end up talking about things that prevent me from getting the most out of a session. But she is good about recognizing when that happens and steering us back on course. Overall, I love working with her and I'm excited to see how things continue to progress!”

Getting to know Dr. Marci Breedlove

Everyone wants to be themselves, to be “seen,” and to be valued for their uniqueness. We're wired to need safe and affirming relationships and connections. When we're struggling, it's usually because something has gotten in the way - not because we're somehow “defective” or “flawed.” I value authenticity and strive to help clients feel and honor emotions that may seem “wrong” or unacceptable. I've worked extensively with college students, survivors of sexual assault and intimate partner violence, adults with ADHD and autism, couples, and individuals living with severe and persistent mental illness. I'm a licensed psychologist who began my career as a social worker, and I see myself not only as a therapist but also as an advocate. I earned my PhD in Mental Health Counseling from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, which has deepened my understanding and commitment to supporting diverse client needs.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Although structure and plans are important, life often seems to have its own agenda. I’m OK with that! You get to be the one to decide when we need to switch gears, change direction, or revamp entirely. It’s always OK to talk about how you feel the process is going.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
