I’ve gotten into fights with other patients. Do not take messages. Barely responds to you if it wasn’t for a great doctor I would’ve left, but the front staff is is terrible at customer service and making you feel welcome.”

However, Dr. Mikhaylova spoke to me about migraine triggers, from environmental to nutritional and hormonal. She went through the different treatment options that are available, taking note of what had not worked for me in the past. And she reassured me with many opportunities to ask questions and give my history. I highly recommend her and am so glad that I found her.”

About Dr. Margarita Mikhaylova
Dr. Margarita Mikhaylova is a board-certified neurologist specializing in clinical neurophysiology, with board-certification in epilepsy. She earned dual B.A and M.A degrees in Biology with Specialization in Biotechnology at the Hunter-Macaulay Honors College. After obtaining her medical degree from the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine-NYIT, she completed a medical internship at Mt. Sinai Queens Hospital Center and subsequently trained in neurology at the Northwell North Shore-LIJ University Hospital where she served as Chief Resident in her final year. She continued on at North Shore Hospital for advanced fellowship in clinical neurophysiology with a focus on electroencephalography (EEG) and epilepsy.
Throughout her training, Dr. Mikhaylova has been passionate about teaching. She has presented posters at the American Academy of Neurology’s annual meeting and has been invited to teach neurosciences at the Tel-Aviv University-Sackler School of Medicine.
Dr. Mikhaylova has a special interest in the treatment of headache disorders and has been published on the management of medication-overuse headaches. She is trained in Botox treatment for various conditions,including chronic migraine, cervical dystonia, TMJ dysfunction and hyperhidrosis.

Dr. Mikhaylova was very kind and had good bedside manners. She also seemed well-versed in my vertigo. The front desk staff could be friendlier however and could have let me know prior about the cost of appointment with insurance. At a place like a neurology office, patients are going through many difficult things and the least we can ask for is kindness and sympathy, not cold responses to questions and scaring patients further by the cost of the treatment. The doctor was incredible though and made the trip worth it.

Made sure I wasn’t dying but didn’t care enough to seriously search for a resolution. Didn’t have time for advanced testing, band-aided with a prescription. No follow up appointment, staff blamed doctor for not finishing “note”. I later called to schedule follow up, staff said they would call me back when the “note” was finished. Never received a call, condition has since worsened. Heading elsewhere hoping for better
