About Dr. Maria Alvarez
Dr. Maria Alvarez is a highly regarded obstetrician-gynecologist currently serving patients at Women’s Care in Winter Garden, FL. She earned her medical degree with honors from the University of Zulia School of Medicine in Venezuela and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lincoln Medical and Mental Health Hospital, affiliated with Weill Cornell Medicine in New York City, where she also held the position of Administrative Chief Resident.
Dr. Alvarez is certified by Intuitive in Minimally Invasive Robotic Gynecologic Surgery and in Weight Loss Management through Novo Nordisk. She is also a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) and continually seeks to further her education in the field.
After several years of practicing medicine in New York City, Dr. Alvarez has moved to Winter Garden, FL, driven by her passion for providing personalized, community-focused women’s care. She is eager to establish a new medical practice in the heart of the community she now calls home.
Dr. Alvarez believes that combining her medical training with the empathy gained from her personal experiences enables her to provide the highest quality of care. She is committed to promoting health beyond the clinic and hospital and is fluent in both English and Spanish.

If you want someone who listens and cares this is the Dr you’ve been waiting for. It was nice to have someone explain some of the complexities women experience throughout life and find solutions.

I have described this to friends and family already! I was so impressed with Dr. Alvarez. She went through my records and looked at all the symptoms, labs, everything and was able to tell me more than the three OBGYNs I saw last year. She had a treatment plan in mind and pointed out inconsistencies other professionals missed. She's amazing. She was compassionate, efficient, but never made me feel rushed. I would recommend her to everyone and anyone and I have and will continue to! She made me feel like I was truly seen and respected as a person. Also, the office staff was friendly, helpful, prepared, organized, and it didn't seem any issue could rattle them. The office itself is beautiful, relaxing, and they really go the extra mile to make you feel comfortable. The exam room had a heater on to make it a little warmer and an easier experience. They had fuzzy socks on the foot area, and it appeared to me that they change them from each client. Attention to detail was clear. Thank you!
