About Dr. Maria Briones
Dr. Briones graduated from Universidad de Costa Rica Facultad de Medicina and completed her residency training in Internal Medicine at Long Island College Hospital in New York. She became board certified in Internal Medicine in 1996 and is a Diplomate in Bariatric Medicine. She has been practicing medicine since 2010 and holds active privileges at Northern Westchester, Burke Rehabilitation Hospitals, and Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Briones is a member of the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, and the Diabetes Medical Association.
She holds an academic appointment as a Clinical Assistant Professor in Medicine at Albert Einstein Medical College.
Dr. Briones has extensive experience in obesity medicine, spanning almost 15 years.
