What is your favorite part of your job?
Seeing patients, especially kids put on their first pair of glasses and being amazed they can see so clearly. Hearing "I can see the leaves on the trees!" never gets old. I love seeing that wide grin smile while patients look around the room with their new glasses.
Tell me more about yourself.
Native San Franciscan here! I grew up in the Sunset District and yes, I did go to Lowell High School. I completed my undergraduate studies at UC Davis and earned my Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of California, Berkeley. I went from watching games at the cold and windy Candlestick to cold and windy PacBell Park (now Oracle Park), but at least I get garlic fries now. Go Giants! Foggy weather is my friend—I will freeze if it's below 60 degrees and melt above 70. I belong to the California Optometry Association and am part of the San Francisco Optometric Society.
What are your outside interests and hobbies?
I love traveling and trying new foods—hence all those food pics on Facebook. Yes, I am one of those people who post pictures of food all the time. I also love to curl up with a good book, especially with the foggy San Francisco weather. During this stay-safe-at-home period, I have been experimenting with baking and cooking. Sometimes it turns out awesome. Sometimes it doesn't look great but tastes delicious. And sometimes it doesn’t look or taste good at all.
What is your favorite vacation spot?
Traveling back to Asia is always fun except for the long plane ride. My favorite spot is going back to Singapore, where I wish I was part of the Crazy Rich Asians—but I’m just crazy and Asian.
If you could have one food/drink every day, what would it be?
Boba tea. I can have one every day and anytime. So delicious, but it makes my wallet thinner and my waistline bigger.

I'm simply amazed! For years doctors rushed through my exam and my astigmatism measurements jumped around even if I would re-take exam within 2 weeks. This doctor was so patient and helped me relax and we together measured a few different ways + compared vs machine measurement and came up with prescription. I'm blown away. What a dedicated professionalism.

Love the doctor and the office, very knowledgeable and took lots of care examining my eyes. The staffs were really nice too! The location doesn’t have parking in the building, so get there early!

Dr. Ng was very nice and made me feel at ease with the eye pain I was having. She was able to quickly confirm my eye was healthy and didn't have any larger issues. She put together a good action plan to help clear up my eye and prescribed some effective medication which is what I was looking for. I would suggest going to her for a good eye doctor, and she made me laugh as well. Overall an enjoyable experience.

Dr. Ng was very friendly and knowledgeable and helped answer any of my questions about the health of my eyes. Her staff was equally as friendly and knowledgeable as well. I have not had an optometrist appointment in unfortunately a very long time and was glad that I chose to come to Dr. Ng's practice after many years of not getting my eyes checked at all!

This was honestly the best eye exam experience of my life. Super professional, parking nearby (3rd between market and mission), and Dr. No was probably the most personable and knowledgeable eye doctor I’ve ever had. I’ll definitely be going back, and you should give her a try.
