Getting to know Dr. Marlo Walters

Hi, I’m Dr. Walters, a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Ready to make some changes? Let’s work together to help you manage mental health challenges and recover from substance use disorders. For the past 26 years, I’ve supported people—likely much like you—in building the skills needed to get sober, stay in recovery, and address co-occurring mental health issues. I’ve worked with adults from all walks of life, including diverse ages, races, cultures, spiritual and religious backgrounds, and many in the LGBTQ+ community, to lay the groundwork for managing mental health and breaking free from drugs and alcohol. Worried that depression or anxiety might be fueling your substance use? You’re not alone—it’s common. We can explore that together and find strategies to help you manage symptoms and heal. If substance use isn’t your concern but you need help with anxiety, depression, or trauma, I can guide you toward a healthier, more balanced life. I look forward to meeting you.

What should a new client know about working with you?

It's very common for folks to be anxious starting counseling. In the first session we will discuss what goals you have in treatment. And I will answer any questions. The following sessions we will discuss ways to meet those goals, your progress and challenges that occur.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.

She is a very good listener. I also like that she is open to hearing about solutions I come up with - it’s not like she expects her solution to be the only solution to an issue.
