“Dr. Blackman and the tech Yves who prepped me prior were great. Yves did a great job he was polite and did awesome with navigating my frustration because I had to wait over an hour before being seen. Dr Blackman was just a pleasure. With that said the front office staff is kinda cold didn’t love any of my interactions with them. Also something has to be done with the scheduling there is no reason a patient should wait over an hour to be seen. I also find it a problem for me to fill out paperwork on medical history to then be asked by the tech and the Dr the same questions I filled out on the form prior to being seen.”

About Dr. Mary Blackman
Dr. Mary Blackman is a graduate of SUNY College of Optometry. She completed her externship training at Bellevue Hospital, as well as at the University Eye Center. Dr. Blackman also completed her ophthalmology residency training at Manila Doctors Hospital and was a board-certified ophthalmologist in the Philippines. She has extensive experience in primary eye care, dry eyes, and management of glaucoma and retinal diseases.

The doctor herself was kind, however, the rest of her staff was not. I waited well over an hour and a half to be seen by the doctor (During 9-5 working hours). Multiple members of the staff were rude or inattentive. I asked multiple times when I might be seen, only for staff members to barely acknowledge the unreasonable wait times or give me an update. A terrible experience.

Dr. Blackman took the time to explain things to me. She is very personable, friendly and attentive. She took the time to do a thorough exam and addressed all my questions.

Dr Blackman and her staff were incredibly helpful and professional. As soon as I mentioned a minor issue I’ve been having they were able to recommend treatments to help alleviate. It was for something I wasn’t even expecting to get help addressing so I was grateful for that extra level of care on top of the overall excellent service.

I had a truly great experience at Dr. Blackman's office. From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, even the gentleman at the desk in the lobby was pleasant and kind, which set a positive tone.
The staff were friendly, polite, and professional. The office was clean and inviting, and there was barely any wait time, which I appreciated since I came during my lunch break.
Dr. Blackman was knowledgeable, thorough, and direct in a way that made me feel seen and heard. As a Black woman, that’s not always guaranteed in healthcare, so I deeply appreciated the care and respect I was shown.
Because I completed the forms and uploaded my insurance info online beforehand, everything went smoothly. I spent most of the appointment time with the doctor, got all my questions answered, and wasn’t rushed.
Totally worth skipping lunch to care for my precious eyes!
Thank you, Dr. Blackman, and your entire team, for making the experience so smooth and affirming. Highly Recommend!

Everything was beautiful the staff, My Doctor Ms. Mary Blackman was amazing and beautiful she was very respectful outgoing and told me exactly what i needed to hear about my eyes. she was clear and furth coming very kind. Ran test on my eyes and made sure that i was safe. The office place was clean and very fast. I highly recommend this place to anyone and everybody Period. I definitely will be back to pick out my glasses that my insurance will cover for.
