About Dr. Matthew Malan
Dr. Malan received his Doctor of Medicine degree from Oregon Health & Science University in 2002.
He was commissioned in the United States Air Force (USAF) in 1998 and entered Active-Duty service in 2003 as a Flight Surgeon. Throughout his career as a Flight Surgeon, Dr. Malan deployed over 20 times to various locations worldwide, including a Combat Tour to Kandahar, Afghanistan, with the 33rd Expeditionary Rescue Squadron. His efforts contributed to saving 88 lives and earned him an Air Medal. Dr. Malan eventually earned his Chief Flight Surgeon wings and flew over 750 hours on 12 different aircraft.

First time visiting Sonterra Dermatology and I was really impressed. All the staff were friendly and courteous, and I was seen right on time. I appreciated that both the nursing staff and the doctor took the time to listen to my symptoms, explain everything thoroughly, and answer any questions I had. Would recommend.

Dr did not analyze my face at all. He did not check my skin. He was like talking in general and was like willing to speak for two minutes and leave the exam room. This was a very disappointing and surprising experience
