About Dr. Megan Nagy
I am originally from Romulus, MI, and have completed all my training within Michigan. I earned my Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Michigan State University. I completed both my internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Saint John Macomb-Oakland Hospital, Oakland Center. I attend a local church in Dearborn, MI, and enjoy participating in activities there. I like to spend time with my family, garden in my backyard, go for bike rides, visit the beach, travel, and relax whenever possible. I have one sister and one brother, three nieces and one nephew, supportive parents and in-laws. I have two sons and a wonderfully hardworking husband. Life is busy with all that we do.
I perform all standard OBGYN procedures, including hysterectomies-especially the vaginal type without abdominal incisions-endometrial ablations for heavy bleeding, diagnostic laparoscopies to evaluate pelvic pain, masses, and infertility; in-office placement of intrauterine devices for contraception or heavy bleeding; routine Pap smears and follow-up of any abnormalities, including ablative techniques for genital warts.
I am trained in Osteopathic Medicine, which emphasizes a holistic approach while managing routine prescriptions, including bio-identical and custom-made hormones, birth control, and medical management for endometriosis. Osteopaths are also trained in body manipulation to ensure that structure supports function. I have helped women find relief from interstitial cystitis, pelvic pain, infertility, hemorrhoids, rib pain, and back pain using only my hands, sometimes avoiding radiological studies and unnecessary medications that other doctors might prescribe. Osteopathy may not treat everything, but it is one of the tools I carry as an OBGYN to help my patients.
I have attended the national American College of Osteopathic OBGYN and American Congress of OBGYN annual and semi-annual conferences when possible.
